This evening at 17:00 we will conduct a “blackout” test. This will consist of us powering down our system(s) one by one to test the way downtime events are reported to us. This allows us to simulate a real service outage and confirm that the standard methods, systems and procedures we have in place for these type of events are fit for purpose and working 100%.
We will also take this opportunity to update all system(s) and perform any required kernel upgrades etc during the downtime window. We don’t expect downtime to exceed more than 15 minutes on any given service and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
